Reaffirming its solidarity with the struggle of the Venezuelan people in defence of the advances and achievements made by the Bolivarian Revolution, the PCP alerts to the provocation manoeuvre mounted by sectors of Venezuelan opposition in a so-called "Takeover of Caracas", announced for today.
Over the last 17 years the Venezuelan people faced a continuous destabilizing and putschist action by the internal oligarchy and the US, resorting to violence and economic boycott against the Bolivarian process.
The operation "Takeover of Caracas" with the provocative violence associated with it and its unpredictable consequences, represents a new and dangerous step of a destabilizing offensive that is in tune with the unacceptable decision by the Obama Administration to consider Venezuela an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States. And is part of the offensive by North American imperialism against the progressive processes and of sovereign affirmation and of cooperation and solidarity and anti-imperialist integration in Latin America and the Caribbean which call into question US domination.
Denouncing the manoeuvres against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, aware of the complex challenges, threats and difficulties that it faces, the PCP is confident that the resistance and struggle of the Venezuelan people, of the revolutionary, progressive and patriotic Venezuelan forces, can stop the attempts of those who want to defeat the Bolivarian process.
Joining the Global Action of Solidarity with Venezuela, the PCP stands with the Venezuelan people, the constitutional government of President Nicolás Maduro, CPV, PSUV and other forces defending the important advances and historic democratic achievements and their further enhancement in the interests of the workers and of the Venezuelan people.
The PCP calls for solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with the defence of the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela against foreign interference and aggression, for the right of the Venezuelan people to decide their destiny.
