The Portuguese Communist Party condemns the military coup in Sudan and expresses its solidarity with the popular mobilisations that resist the putschist forces and their anti-democratic plans.

The PCP demands an end to the repression on the Sudanese people and democratic forces, as well as the immediate release of all detainees.

The PCP denounces imperialism’s interference in Sudan, which aims to ensure the control and exploitation of its natural resources and the insertion of this country in its strategy of domination of this important region on the African continent.

The PCP reaffirms its solidarity with the Sudanese Communist Party and the persistent and courageous struggle of the Sudanese workers and people for their fundamental rights and freedoms, for democracy and social progress, for the end of imperialism's interference.
