The PCP vehemently condemns the acts of a putschist nature against democracy in Brazil, carried out against the institutions of federal power in Brasilia.

The PCP calls for a full establishment of the facts by the Brazilian authorities and for the conviction and punishment of those who were responsible for instigating, promoting and directly taking part in these reactionary and putschist acts.

In exposing and repudiating the fascist threats with which the Brazilian democracy is confronted, and recalling that these extremely serious acts are an integral part of a process with a fascistic nature that is tolerated and normalized by some of those who now condemn it, the PCP calls for the expression of solidarity with the struggle of the Brazilian people in defense of democracy and for their rights.

The PCP reiterates its solidarity with Lula da Silva, with the PT, PCdoB and other Brazilian democratic and progressive forces that are committed to achieving a more just, democratic and developed Brazil, thus materializing the aspirations of the Brazilian people.
