"Asia - Pacífic: the USA' s interventionist escalade"

Translated "Avante!" article by Luis Carapinha, Member of the PCP International Department

Amid the deep economic stagnation and systemic crisis framework, the North-American imperialism insists on a world-wide total irrational strategy and the growing use of military power. The USA’s exploiting lineage, a country with a public debt which already has reached beyond 15 billion dollars and prepares to achieve the 100% of its GIP, does not conceal its restlessness before China’s challenge in result of its development, the second greater world economy since 2010 and the greater debt bond purchaser. Symptomatic statements of the most perverse intentions, as from Jon Huntsman, the republican candidate to the 2010 presidential elections and former Beijing ambassador, who has no reluctance in suggesting “ to overthrow China “( in Global Times, 11.11.19 ), have become almost a commonplace within the USA’s power high representatives. This is the background in which took place the APEC (Asia and Pacific Economic Cooperation) and the ASEAN (Asian Southeast Nations’ Association) summits, these last days, a White House chosen moment to perform a diplomatic-military assault in a region which has clearly China as a target.

Obama, on visiting Australia - a USA and NATO accomplice in the Afghanistan war, officialised the permanent military base in Darwin, in the North coast of the island, announcing the USA will have as top priority its military position within the Asia-Pacific region. Julia Gillard, the host prime-minister, elected by the Labour Party, recalled it is the greatest military commitment the USA has ever had in Australia since World War II. At the same occasion, Clinton, the secretary of state, signed a statement with her Philippine counterpart, in Manila, on board the USS Fitzgerald destroyer, which seals the USA’s interference policy, amid the China’s South Sea tangled territorial dispute process, which involves many countries in the area , promised to reinforce the military alliance with the Philippines. Washington is counting with the valuable assistance of Benigno Aquino’s government in the efforts to aggravate and internationalize the litigious and orchestrate round a “common front” against Beijing.

In the strategic contention and siege escalade to China, the USA count with the support and a large military presence in Japan and South Korea. Simultaneously, it strikes an attack towards the economic front, appearing as the important promoters of the trade liberalization agreement of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, not integrated by China. Not being able to manage without the “ asymmetric economic dependence” relation with the greatest world emerging market, currently, the imperialist pressure increase over China, aims to oblige it to act according to “ the rules of the game” ( in People’s Daily on-line, 11.11.18 ). The very same rules which dictate imperialism does not give up its purposes of forcing the total opening of the Chinese home market to its unlimited exploitation and annul China’s sovereign emergency. This and much more will continue to be carried out by the USA’s power in order to little by little endeavor to instabilize China and, in t last instance, be able to subvert its internal order and defeat the assumed direction of socialism.

Within the framework of the consequent strategic tasks of the imperialism forces, in which are included the measures to annul in short time, with the help of the anti-missile shield, the nuclear dissuasion power, which basically Russia inherited from the USSR - which places in obvious risk , not only the sovereignty, but the Russian Federation territorial integrity as well - , and currently one assists to the tension and barbaric escalade in the Middle East and to the wave of chaos and destabilization which spreads throughout North Africa unto Central Asia.

The current dangerous situation and the serious threats to world peace demand, at present, to double the efforts of the workers’ masses and the peoples leading role, in the name of democracy, against capitalist exploitation, against imperialism wars.
