NATO, the imperialist war headquarters, held a Summit, a few days ago. The Summit’s long final statement is hallucinating. The attack to Russia was the central issue during this Delirious Summit. Once again, war and lies go hand in hand, at imperialism’s service.
The NATO political leader is the Danish Mr.Rasmussen, who owns his current post (just as Durão Barroso, the European Commission outgoing president ) to the fact that, whilst being Denmark’s prime-minister, in 2003, supported the axis Bush-Blair-Aznar, concerning all the lies round the Iraq’s criminal invasion.
Rasmussen has
not lost his habit to lie. In June, he stated that environmentalists who oppose the dangerous techniques of injecting water with toxic products ( fracking) in order to extract natural gas from sedimentary stones( “shale-gas”) were in Putin’s payroll . The Financial Times, the Anglo-Saxon great capital newspaper, returns to attack by nurturing the lie: “ Amid the European intelligence communities, do believe in Mr. Rasmussen’s comment” (in FT, 2014.08.28). Just as they” used to believe” in Saddam Hussein’s mass destruction weapons’ lies.
It is never too much to remind NATO’s member countries are responsible for all the great wars, for the last decades and for more than 75% of the globe’s military expenses. When the UN do not submit before their war plans, they go ahead and attack ( Yugoslavia and Iraq). They finance, train and arm the most barbarian terrorist bands in order to serve as shock troops ( as in Libya, Syria, Ukraine). The countries are in ruins and the peoples’ slaughtered, and the victims are accused. The Summit’s statement has the insolence of saying ( point 37) that “ Assad’s regime has contributed for the ISIS surge [Islamic State]”, the most recent recycle of the fundamentalist hordes used by imperialists to destroy secular countries, issued from the Arab national liberation movement. The British press itself ought to declare that Turkey, a NATO major member, “ has kept its boarders open to Jihadists in opposition to [Assad], including the ISIS (in the Guardian, 2014.08.24). The NATO’s hallucinating statement also accuses(point17) “Russia and the separatists they support” for “the aggravation of the humanitarian situation and the material destruction in East Ukraine”. As if it weren’t the Kiev’s coup government troops and the Nazi battalions – financed by Ukrainian oligarchs and armed by NATO’s powers, which orchestrated the state coup, last February – bombing , day-upon-day, small villages as well as great towns as Donetsk or Lugansk, spreading death ( as in Gaza) and even using white phosphorous together with ballistic missiles. And imperialist BBC headlines: “Ukraine conflict: the UN states that one million people have fled” (2014.09.02), and afterwards inform that 80% of those refugees have fled…Russia! The Summit’s statement has audacity of (point 91) mentioning NATO’s great concern for children. But not even the whole statement’s 113 points were enough to, at any stage, condemn Israel, that had spent the two previous months before the Summit, slaughtering Gaza’s population, including over 600 children.
The imperialist powers criminal nature, which command NATO, is shocking, and Craig Murray, an ex-British ambassador talks about his country in the following terms: “ a pathological state which represents a threat to the world, a marginal state, with the purpose of making war to enrich some people[…]. 15 000 people were killed when NATO bombed Sirte [in Lybia], and the BBC never informed the world” (Ria Novosti, 2014.08.28). But the Avante! did. (2014.09.09).
