The Parliamentary Group of the Portuguese Communist Party tabled in the Portuguese Parliament a «Vote condemning acts of violence against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Venezuelan people».
The vote was rejected by PS, PSD and CDS.

Venezuela and its people have been victims of acts by putschist groups who are responsible for the aggression and murder of citizens, for attacking organs of sovereignty, institutions and public services, for the destruction and looting of public and private property, as well as for provocative actions - such as the one that took place on July 5 in the Parliament, which was promptly denounced and condemned by the Venezuelan authorities.
This violent action includes the theft of military equipment and bombing of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace; the attempted attack on the Francisco de Miranda Airbase; vandalizing of healthcare and education services; fire in the Caracas Metro stations and other transport equipment; destruction of medicine and food stores; sabotage of electrical installations - among other acts that are a feature of the terrorist action of these putschist groups.
A criminal action that is accompanied by an economic boycott, hoarding and speculation of prices, as well as the looting of commercial facilities, many of which belong to Portuguese emigrants living in Venezuela, also victims of the putschist destabilization that aims, in a situation already marred by economic problems, to restrain access to essential goods by the population.

Thus, the Assembly of the Republic, meeting in plenary session;
- Condemns the violent action of putschist groups against Venezuelan citizens, organs of sovereignty and public institutions of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and public and private property;
- Expresses its sympathy for the victims and its solidarity with all those who have been affected, including the Portuguese emigrants, who have seen their property and activities affected by the violent action of the putschist groups in Venezuela;
- Believes that it is up to the Venezuelan people, free from external interference, to find a solution to their problems.
