The PCP strongly condemns the criminal actions of terrorist mercenary groups - promoted from abroad - against Mozambique and the Mozambican people, which have targeted the northeast of the country.

The PCP denounces the interests behind this new destabilisation operation, which aims at the control and appropriation of important natural resources that the Mozambican State seeks to place at the service of the country's economic and social development.

The PCP alerts to the attempt to instrumentalize the destabilising action in the Province of Cabo Delgado to, through its internationalisation, pave the way for interventionism, the deployment of foreign military forces and neo-colonial postures, which disrespect the sovereignty and independence of Mozambique, for which FRELIMO and the Mozambican people fought so heroically.

The PCP affirms its solidarity with FRELIMO and the Mozambican people and expresses its best wishes for success in the efforts that the Mozambican authorities have been making in order to guarantee the security and needs of the populations and to defend peace, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Mozambique.
