We express our solidarity with the people and government of Cuba in view of the energy situation the country is experiencing, which has been compounded by adverse weather conditions.
In recent days, Cuba has experienced a difficult situation in terms of its energy system, which has led the country to face power cuts that, thanks to the efforts made, have been completely resolved in the last few hours.
The main cause of the situation experienced over the last few days is the criminal policy that the US is pursuing against Cuba through the blockade and unilateral coercive measures, which only aim to suffocate Cuba and its people and impose the rule of imperialism. An inhumane and illegal blockade that the United Nations General Assembly has rejected countless times.
Fortunately, the Cuban people know who is really responsible for their difficulties and suffering, the US Administration, and they are also aware of the efforts made by the Cuban government and its president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, to minimise the effects of the criminal blockade against the island.
We denounce that US policy against Cuba is cruel, inhumane and violates the principles of the UN Charter and international law.
We reaffirm our strongest solidarity and support for the Cuban people and government, the Communist Party of Cuba and its First Secretary and President of the Republic, comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel, who are engaged in a huge task to eradicate the effects of Washington's criminal policy.
We reiterate our demand for the lifting of the criminal US blockade against Cuba, the exclusion of Cuba from the infamous US list of so-called “terrorist promoting countries” and an end to all unilateral coercive measures, a policy that is also categorically rejected by the majority of countries of the world.
