The Communist and Left Parties meeting in Lisbon on March 3, 2006, to debate aspects of the situation in Europe, having learnt of the developments surrounding the threats by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic against the Union of Communist Youth of that country, which may lead to it being banned as the political organization of young Czech Communists:

- Vehemently condemns the anti-Communist discriminations and provocations carried out by the Czech authorities and dennounce anti-Communism, of which such acts are an expression, as an attack against democracy itself, in that country and in Europe.

- Demand from the government and other authorities of the Czech Republic respect for democracy, for the fundamental rights and freedoms of the Czech people and, therefore, an immediate end to the process of political and ideological persecution against the young Czech Communists and their organization.

- Reaffirm to the Union of Communist Youth of the Czech Republic and to the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia their support and active solidarity in this battle against anti-Communist persecution and in their struggle for the freedom of political and ideological option by the Czech youth and people.
