The PCP condemns all criminal acts, including those in the context of war, which have taken place or are taking place on the soil of Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya or other countries.
The news spread from the Ukrainian centres of power and amplified by the propaganda machine that has surrounded the war in Ukraine about the alleged “war crimes” that took place in Bucha, as well as the denials by the Russian authorities stating that this was an operation of manipulation, are not only disturbing but also require a thorough investigation.
The existence of proven examples in which certain situations presented as true were later confirmed to be false and based on manipulation operations requires the indispensable, thorough and rigorous investigation of the reported situations, ensured by effectively independent bodies, determined by the real assessment of the facts. and not by pre-determined judgments or objectives that do not contribute to ascertaining the truth.
The PCP reaffirms that what is needed is to put an end to the ongoing escalation and contribute to a ceasefire and a negotiated political solution to the conflict that ensures peace and collective security in Europe.
