PCP relayed its warm salutations to the Polisario Front, legitimate representative of the Sahrawi people, on 45th anniversary of its creation, marked today, May 10th.
PCP reaffirmed its "long-standing solidarity with the persistent and courageous struggle of the Polisario Front against colonialism and for the respect and realization of the unalienable national rights of the Sahrawi people, the basis for the creation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic".
At a time of a worsening situation in Western Sahara, illegally occupied by the Kingdom of Morocco, who violently represses the struggle of the Sahrawi people for their legitimate rights, PCP reaffirmed its «commitment in denouncing and condemning the occupation and repression by the Moroccan authorities, demanding the respect for the rights and the freedom of Sahrawi political prisoners imprisoned in Moroccan prisons».
PCP also reaffirmed that a just solution for the conflict in Western Sahara «depends necessarily upon fulfilling the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination, according and in respect with the principles of the UN Charter, international law and the pertinent United Nations resolutions».
