The PCP joins a mission of international solidarity with the Palestinian People, which will take place on October 11-14, in the context of the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP), which, together with the PCP, will have the participation of communist parties from South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece and India.
The PCP will be represented by Ângelo Alves, member of the Political Committee and of the International Department.
The solidarity mission that the PCP is part of takes place at a particularly critical moment of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, where Israel intensifies the provocations and brutal repression on the Palestinian people, carries out new bombings on the Gaza Strip and further extends its policy of settlements and blockade of the occupied Palestinian territories.
The solidarity mission will travel to Ramallah on the West Bank, where it will hold contacts and meetings with senior representatives from the Palestinian Authority - including the Prime Minister - and with the leaderships of various political forces that constitute the Organization for the Liberation of Palestine (PLO).
The representatives of communist parties will travel to Jerusalem to continue contacts with Palestinian political and social forces and carry out several visits.
During its stay in the region, the solidarity mission will also travel to Israel, at the invitation of the Communist Party of Israel, for contacts and meetings, particularly in the Israeli parliament (Knesset).
