Presentation of the result of the first meeting of the Central Committee
As was foreseen in the second point of the agenda, the Congress, in the session reserved to the delegates, elected the Central Committee.
The Central committee was elected by the majority of the1219 delegates that voted, with 1184 votes in favor, corresponding to 97%, 14 votes against and 21 abstentions.
The Central Committee held its first plenary meeting, electing the Political Commission, the Secretariat of the Central Committee and the Central Control Commission.
The Central Committee also elected the General-Secretary of the Party.
The Political Commission and the Secretariat of the Central Committee, and the Central Control Commission were elected unanimously.
The General-Secretary of the Party, comrade Jerónimo de Sousa (who decided not to vote in his own election) was elected unanimously.
