Tens of thousands of workers, young people and pensioners took part in the demonstrations organised by the CGTP-IN, filling the streets of Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Funchal and giving voice to their outrage at injustices and their demand for better wages, decent pensions and high-quality public services.
While those who work struggle to pay their rent, mortgage payments and monthly shopping bills, the large economic groups are raking in millions in profits.
The answer lies in the struggle, in unity and in the mobilisation of all those who refuse to accept this reality. This is how we defend rights, fight injustices and demand policies that serve those who work and the people, and not the interests of the large economic groups.
The struggle does not end here! The CGTP-IN has already called for a new demonstration on November 24, the day of the final vote on the State Budget. There are reasons to fight, and much to be won!
