Release from the PCP Press Office

Immediate end to massacres against the people in Syria

The PCP strongly condemns the massacres and all kinds of crimes perpetrated against the people of Syria by armed terrorist groups, which seized power in the country on December 8.

The violent action carried out by these groups, which include thousands of foreign mercenaries, targets ethnic and religious minorities, including the Alawite and Christian populations, as well as the political and social forces that fight for a sovereign, democratic and secular Syrian Arab Republic.

The PCP denounces the responsibilities of Türkiye, Israel and the US, as well as the European Union, for years of continuous interference, aggression and military occupation of Syrian territories, the plundering of its natural resources, the imposition of an inhuman economic and financial blockade and the promotion and support for the actions of armed terrorist groups.

The PCP calls for the denunciation and condemnation of the heinous crimes and persecutions carried out by the reactionary and obscurantist power installed in Syria, as well as the affirmation of the demand for an immediate end to its criminal campaign and the urgent provision of humanitarian aid to the many thousands of Syrian refugees.

Bearing in mind the historic traditions of struggle of the Syrian people and the Syrian communists, including their support for the Palestinian national cause, the PCP expresses its solidarity with the Syrian people and the patriotic and progressive Syrian forces, who legitimately resist the crimes, violence, abuses and arbitrariness of an oppressive power and fight for a sovereign, democratic and secular Syrian Arab Republic, where all populations, regardless of their ethnicity or religion, live in peace.
