Years of right-wing policies dragged Portugal into economic decline, social regression and foreign dependence. While lying about the country's situation, PSD and CDS-PP, in a covert convergence with PS, have already prepared, in articulation with the European Union, the continuation and escalation for decades of this course. If they are strong enough, following the elections, they aim to promote unemployment, deteriorate wages and increase exploitation, introduce more cuts in pensions and retirement pay, in social benefits and public services, and at the same time offer new handouts to big business. It is the perpetuation of exploitation and impoverishment of the people, it is jeopardising the future of Portugal.

We do not accept this course, we hold that it is necessary and possible to have Portugal with a future!

We call on the workers, the youth, women, pensioners, democrats and patriots committed to a rupture with the right-wing policy and the course of impoverishment and national decline carried out in recent years by this and the previous governments.

The National March "The power of the People" – let’s all take to the streets for Portugal with a future, promoted by CDU, Broad Democratic Coalition, PCP/PEV, is a powerful day of struggle and affirmation of the power and will of the Portuguese people in a country free from submission to financial interests, a sovereign country, of social progress and development.

The National March is a powerful assertion that it lies in the people, in their intervention, in their struggle and their vote, the sovereign decision on the future to be built for the present and future generations, an assertion that it is in the hands of the workers and the people to decide their fate, open a different path for Portugal, materialise a patriotic and left-wing alternative, linked to the values of April.

Faced with the country's situation, of the workers, youth, women, pensioners, of the vast majority of the Portuguese people, we are not resigned, we do not yield, we do not give up.

For the release from the garrotte of the debt, from dependence and domination by big business. For truth, dignity and honesty. For national production, employment and workers' rights. For public services and the right to education, health, social protection and culture. For the public control of strategic sectors, fiscal justice and development. For democracy and sovereignty.

From every neighbourhood, parish, company, workplace, school, association, local community, or individually, contact the CDU activists, militants of the PCP and PEV, their centres of work and headquarters to sign up and ensure transportation and participation.
