We are here for yet another momentous day of a great day of struggle by Portuguese workers. A very fair struggle, very fair demands, struggling for what is a fundamental issue today, which is wages, rights, against precariousness, a struggle for their rights, their aspirations. But it is a struggle for the country too.

And we are facing a situation where, I would say, propaganda means a lot. But there are two things that propaganda does not do. On the one hand, it doesn't pay the rents, it doesn't pay the mortgages, it doesn't put food on the table and, no matter how powerful this propaganda is, it doesn't deceive reality either. And reality is here asserting itself every day.

A society of deep injustice, with workers being squeezed in their wages, their pensions

Now look at the situations related to the increase in interest rates, because this affects thousands of people in our country. And then, at the situation of a few, a small minority hoarding themselves with profits like never before, which is completely unfair, causes a situation of huge inequality. And therefore, this struggle is very fair.

The day of actions today across the country is very fair. In companies, in workplaces, with this expression on the streets, now here and in Porto, and it is of great importance, we had to be here to value this whole struggle of the people who are here.
