"Struggle is the path"

Although, starting from differentiated situations, the recent elections, which took place both in Greece and France results’ repercussions - expressing of a natural rejection of the European Union policies and the non-acceptance of their inevitability, standing for a legitimate desire of change, highlighting this capitalist integration process’ contradictions - will certainly mark the future evolution of the European Union’s situation.

Contrarily of what some exhaustively try to conceal, pointing out the finger just unto Markel and Sarkozy, these elections’ outcome, bring about, within their essence, the policies’ rejection against the workers’ interests and the peoples sovereignty, driven by the European Union and by which social-democracy and the right-wing are co-responsible.

Assuming and holding the leading role concerning the financial capitalist integration, social-democracy and the right-wing monitor the European capitalist integration, that is, defining and executing their policies, their treaties, the unique Market, the Euro, Lisbon’s Strategy, now re-named as “2020”, among multiple examples.

Social - democracy, which exalts the victory significance of Hollande against Sarkozy, is the same which demands Greece to accomplish the “memorandums” - authentically extortion, exploitation intensification and economic power mechanisms - imposed by the European Union and enthusiastically pursued by social-democracy, allied to the right-wing amid the Greek government.
However, the capitalism structural crisis deepening and consequently, together with the European capitalist integration, is awakening divergences, which were highlighted during France’s recent elections. A divergence between social-democracy and the right-wing regarding the perspective of a long term period of economic recession and its consequences for the safeguard of the European capitalist integration. A divergence among the French and German great capital interests and its immediate agenda, apparently, “France” appearing more interested than “Germany” concerning the acceleration of the setting up of costs and risks partnership mechanisms associated to the Euro ( and what these ought to signify of social and economic decline together with the national sovereignty loss of countries such as Portugal and the Franco-German directorate reinforcement).

Very soon, the conditionality, announced by Hollande will be clarified, concerning the budget treaty ratification effective meaning.

Up to the present, Hollande has not placed any question on none of the unacceptable aspects included in this treaty, under a ratification in progress, but suggesting the need of “ completing it” (alias, just as the PS, which ratified it in Portugal).

Nevertheless, contrarily of what social- democracy announces, what is demanded is not the impossible “reform” - through the inclusion of “an additional protocol” - of a budget treaty which attacks the national sovereignties and condemns Portugal to a European Union permanent dependency. Its rejection is demanded.

The issue is not the replacing of a so-called “intelligent austerity”, which carries on aggravating exploitation, dismantling Social Security and the public services. Its rupture with the aggression pact is demanded.

That is, what is demanded, is not the European capitalist integration reinforcement and deepening - together with its neo-liberal, militarist and federalist inseparable aspects -, but the confrontation and rupture with its policies, regarding a Europe of cooperation, progress and peace.
